Foxglove Sculpture, Harlow Carr
James Wilkinson Blacksmith

The sculpture Foxglove was created for an exhibition at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Garden Harlow Carr.
James Wilkinson Blacksmith was inspired by nature, having a workshop in a rural location in North Yorkshire and felt inspired to try to recreate the sculptural form of a foxglove when seeing one growing on the edge of a wood while on a walk. The sculpture needed to be large enough and bold enough to stand out against the large busy backdrop of Harlow Carr.
The sculpture stands at 6 feet tall above the stone base, and comprises of over 200 pieces, all individually hand forged and welded onto the stems. The acid etched hot dip galvanized finish gives a captivating multi tonal natural looking effect.
