Teats Hill Community Planter and Bench, Plymouth
Thrussells

Teats Hill community green space is a multi-purpose public space, with a diverse community that enjoys the use of a play park, wildlife area, seashore, and open greens. Thrussells worked with the community to design sculptural planters in a series of six workshop sessions.
Each part of the sculptural planter tells a story about the history of the community whose stories include the shipping trade, allotments, festivals, industry, and culture of the people. The planters are made from 3 - 4 mm thick galvanized steel sheet. A total of nine planter boxes were with an interconnecting bench that connects the planter boxes. The lectern planter box holds an information board incorporating the box as part of the design.
